Our Sites may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to support basic site functionality. We do not currently use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. If we add such technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, obtain appropriate consent.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Sites and delivering our services. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable law. Current service providers include:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing
  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) — email marketing platform. If we change or add email marketing providers in the future, this Policy will be updated to reflect the then-current provider(s).
  • Web hosting and analytics providers

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our Company, our customers, or others.

3.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

4. Third-Party Payment Processing — Stripe

We use Stripe, Inc. to process payments for advertising services and directory listings. When you make a payment on our Sites, you are providing your payment information directly to Stripe. Stripe’s collection and use of your payment information is governed by Stripe’s own Privacy Policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. We recommend reviewing Stripe’s Privacy Policy before submitting payment information.

We receive only limited transaction confirmation data from Stripe (such as transaction ID and amount) and do not have access to your full payment card number.

5. Email Marketing

If you subscribe to receive marketing emails from us, we will use your name and email address to send you communications about our services, community updates, and promotional offers. Each marketing email will include an unsubscribe link. You may also opt out at any time by contacting us at the email address in Section 13.

We currently use Mailchimp, a service provided by Intuit Inc., to send marketing communications. By subscribing, you acknowledge that your email address will be shared with our email marketing provider for the purpose of sending you our communications. Mailchimp’s privacy practices are governed by Intuit’s Privacy Statement, available at intuit.com/privacy/statement. We reserve the right to change our email marketing provider at any time. If we do so, we will update this Policy to identify the new provider, and your information will be handled in accordance with this Policy and that provider’s applicable terms.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our community directory content is publicly viewable by users of all ages. However, our interactive features — including contact forms, email subscription forms, content submission forms, and payment functions — are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through any such mechanism.

We operate our interactive features under the assumption that all users submitting information are 13 years of age or older. We do not seek to verify the age of users viewing publicly available directory content, and that browsing activity does not constitute the collection of personal information.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information promptly from our records. If a parent or guardian believes that a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately at privacy@communityselectmedia.com or at the address in Section 13. We will take prompt action to locate and delete the information upon verification.

This approach is consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not condition participation in any activity on the disclosure of more personal information from any user than is reasonably necessary for that activity.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may contact us at any time to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, or to request deletion of your information. We will respond to such requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

7.2 Marketing Opt-Out

You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly. Opting out of marketing emails will not affect transactional communications related to services you have purchased.

7.3 EU and UK Residents — GDPR

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address in Section 13. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data is: (a) your consent, where required; (b) performance of a contract with you; (c) compliance with our legal obligations; or (d) our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for the following periods, or longer where required by law:

  • Contact form submissions and general inquiries: up to 24 months from the date of submission, or until the inquiry is resolved, whichever is later
  • Customer and advertiser records related to paid transactions: 7 years from the date of the transaction, consistent with standard business and tax recordkeeping requirements
  • Directory listing information for active listings: for the duration of the listing plus 12 months following removal or expiration
  • Email marketing subscription records: for the duration of the subscription plus 36 months following unsubscribe, to document consent and opt-out history
  • Automatically collected technical data (server logs, analytics): up to 24 months

When retention periods expire, we will delete or anonymize the relevant information in accordance with our internal data management practices. We may retain information longer than the periods above where necessary to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal obligations.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Accessibility

We are committed to making our Sites accessible to users with disabilities. If you experience difficulty accessing any content or functionality on our Sites, or if you need this Privacy Policy or any related information in an alternative format, please contact us at privacy@communityselectmedia.com or at the address in Section 13. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information in a format that meets your needs.

11. Third-Party Links

Our Sites may contain links to third-party websites, including community business listings and advertiser websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to our Sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our Sites after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
